20-23/2/03. Lock Fyne and Invararay beckoned again, but not for us the damp cold bareness of self catering out in the sticks. No fear. A touch of luxury even as Paul & Chris and Rohan and Kirsten rested their weary heads, on the first night in an apartment in the Paymaster’s House, a short stagger from the George Hotel. Hugh inhabited a nearby bed and breakfast from which 105 large paces also got him, to the George Hotel.
The next day Friday we did a couple of dives on the far side of Loch Fyne. During the first dive Hugh managed to change buddies without noticing. On the second dive he treated viewers to an excellent example of an involuntary sliding diving entry with twist (so you don’t know that one). All was forgotten in the evening as we tucked into one of Chris’ curry. An evening to remember especially for Rohan.
On the Saturday we did that vertically challenging dive at Stallion’s Rock. We were joined by Angi, Neil and Mary. Andy however could not be persuaded to come along. However we did see him in the evening when we all piled into the George for a get together.
Sunday the day for one dive and home. We were joined by Marilyn who dived with Andy. Chris having injured her knee the previous day sat this one out. The weather was very wet. We did a dive just beyond Furnace at a dive site which boasted its own cafe. The down side of this ideal arrangement was that some of our number cut short their dive in order to sooner savour the big fry up.
