The early hours of Friday 18th November found Malcolm, Neil, Hugh, Huw (friend of Neil’s) and Janak Desai (old club member) at Manchester Airport almost ready for the start of their weeks diving in Hurghada, Egypt. “Final call for Desai, Evans and Roberts. Please make your way quickly to Gate 300. The aircraft is ready to leave”. The holiday had started and Malcolm was just with us.

The hotel the Regina Style is situated on one of Hurghada’s busiest streets, so all entertainment was just a short walk away; its grounds borders the shore of the Red Sea. (See photo’s). The day temperature was around 30 ºC and 20 ºC at night.

We had six days of two boat dives a day with Easy Divers and one boat night dive giving a maximum of thirteen dives. Huw qualified as a PADI open water diver in three days and then joined us for the diving. The diving was great and up to the usual standard.

The Egyptian traders were good value. Always asking from where we came and naturally we told them Wales and took it from there. The Egyptian haircut a method of confusing the traders taken by Malcolm and Janak, and doubles as a contraceptive according to J***e.

(I would appreciate any help in naming the fish I have not as yet named or not yet given a full or correct name).
