Rather more sluggishly than usual a group of club members got themselves to Vivian quarry some for a spot of Dive Leader training and for the rest for a chance to get into the water. David and Hugh took Mick and Lea in for their Dive Leader Open Water first lesson. Neil, Robin, Irfon and Dewi came along for a recreational dive and to keep themselves dive fit.
The open water lesson was the one on mid water DSMB deployment, a most important skill for the divers who are likely to find themselves in more challenging conditions. A successful deployment is not easy and is quite a confidence booster.
One of the best turnouts for several years. It was good to see that the partners were brave enough to come along and join us. Whether they will come a second time only time will tell. A good time was had by all. Many thanks to Julie for organising the entertainment with their associated prizes. Neil was obviously happy with his and so was Malcolm.
