Internally laden with Christmas fare the group (Mick, Gwyn, Arwyn, Neil, David and Hugh, Lee was unwell) got themselves to Neil’s house in Llanberis for 10 a.m. Nikki got sent upstairs and the group settled down to three lectures. David: The Role of the Dive Leader, Hugh:Oxygen and Diving Incidents, and Neil: Casualty assessment. Then motivated by unexpected hunger we all went down to Pete’s Eats, where we were joined by Malcolm.
Darkness was approaching as we made for the quarry. It was decided to do the: Dive Leading Demonstration. The training dive turned into a night training dive with Malcom and Gwyn really making a meal of it by being in 10 minutes longer than everybody else. We were very grateful for the new changing facilities at Vivian. I didn’t miss, as I thought I would, the customary feel of the rain and the wind on my legs. Our next visit is on Monday 3rd January 2005.
Once again Julie organised a super party. The food was excellent, the staff and other customers very understanding and the prizes interesting! Many thanks to all those who contributed. The charades went very well considering the lack of skill of the participants (see photographs). Most of us got the message. The following quiz organised by Julie was a little difficult for us mere mortals but we gave it our all. For two of the party goers the proceedings carried on until 3 a.m. For one this was followed by some bush decoration. For his information the fairy is placed on the top of the bush not slumped in the middle of it.
