Dive report Wednesday 26th of June 2024
Four divers went to the Menai Straight on Wednesday evening. The weather was fine, there was a very slight current at the start,
fading to slack. All divers went in and came out at the same spot. The viz was not as good as we had been led to believe, but there was lots to see including many lobsters, crabs, sponges, a few fish, prawns, candystripe worm, and sea squirts. A good dive, Thanks.

Dive Report 30th of June 2024
Well, three phoned in so I decided to take the Top Cat for a change of scenery for me. David, Melanie, Andrew and myself were the chosen few, and Mike volunteered to Cox for us. The dive plan was to dive the ridge, as we hadn’t done this for two years and is usually a good dive. Well, we got the boat ready and kitted up. I jumped on the tractor and it had an airlock and a lazy battery. So sorted these issues out, and then the stopper broke. Any way sorted that out with a few choice words I might add. Launched the boat and off we went. We arrived at the ridge to find it completely slack. Andrew and me were the first in, as I was unsure to whether I could equalise or not having been nursing a cold for nearly a month. Anyway, all was good and we had a 50minute dive. The life was abundant but not as much as the norm. Some large pollock, ballan wrasse, cuckoos, corkwing wrasse, dogs, Huss, conger, bib, pout, leopards, tompots, lobsters, brown crab, spiders and as you’ve seen one crawfish. So for those who didn’t show up, it was quite busy. When we were picked up by Mike he said David had left his pee zip open. When everyone was back in the boat it turned out David was pretty wet and cold, which made two of us. David asked if I could run him back, and after a very brief discussion with the team it was decided we’d had a good dive and called it a day. Overall a good dive but it was like being out in March, bloody cold.
Brett.
